Week 26 - Paarl Rock



I had never been to Paarl rock before, nor had i ever climbed a friction slab 3 pitches up with 10m runouts! Wild! Yet another great days out climbing

week 24 - Beaverlac


Pat and I went camping at Beaverlac, nothing beats camping! Realy nice campsite all to ourselves :)

Week 23 - World Cup!

So much soccer!

Week 21 - Rocklands


Once again back in Rocklands, it was great, as it always is! (Woody working "Pendragon" 8A)

Week 20 - Big wall!

After going away 8 out of 9 weekends I thought its time for a break... so i spent it organise Newborn
Newborn is an 11 pitch 29 sport route in the midle of Yellowwood amputate (a trad heaven)
The three of us, Mike, Wiebke and myself went to tackel our first "Big Wall" and AID (dog) up it.


We had a lot of gear!


We slept one pitch bellow the halfway ledge, 5 pitches up. Even after a 3:30am start, a hell of a hike up, and leading for 4hours straight and halling 5 pitchs i could'nt sleep :)


Week 16 - Nationals


Flew up to JHB for the lonh weekend where we climbed in Bouldering Nationals and a sport comp, we also spent a day at eZemvelo. Me and Rob both got knocked out of the sport pretty early but i managed to be place 4th in bouldering! (pic - Benj crusing the mens first route)

Week 15 - Chris


After a morning at Silvermine we went out to a braai with in Villiersdorp to visit Chris and Jacques

Weel 14 - Trad?


My first trad experice.
I followd Mike up a 17 then lead a 3 pitch 18, Mind blowing crux!

Week 13 - Rocklands again

Second weekend in a row, Rocklands! Woody sending "Tea with Elmarie" (8A+)

Week 12 - Rocklands


Woody on Cederspine (7c sit-start), A great weekend in the best bouldering in the country

Week 11 - ...


All i can say is... 300m, 10pitches and 2 falls!

Week 10 - Cogman's Buttress



Wow what a weekend! Friday night drove out to Montagu past burning road blocks to do my first multi-pitch, Another day in Paradise 21. Then drove back home, then drove to Grabouw to do Suicide Gorge, 18km of kloofing with 5 massive.

Week 9 - Redhill

We spent more time messing around with photo's than climbing, o well

Week 8 - Silvermine

Some sport climbing with Wiebke and JP, followed by the best cold beer ever!

Week 7 - Montagu


Church of Federico (23) is by far the most fun i have had on a single pitch sport line! A great weekend camping

Week 6 - Redhill

Slacklining in Newlands forest followed by a day at Redhill followed by Sinfull in the setting sun, the perfect weekend!

Week 5 - TM Hike

Pat, Luke, Luke friend and I took a strole from UCT to Kloof neck, up Kasteelspoort, down in to Kirstenbosch and back to UCT, just in time to make Charlene's 21st

Week 4 - Lions Head

Chris and Jacques finaly came to see Cape Town and we hit the beaches hard!
But first we took a barefoot hike up Lions Head

Week 3 - Scarborough

Me and Pat watch the sun set from Scarborough and took a quick paddle in the sea...

Right, so this is the start of my blog.
The plan is to keep this blog for my big trip to Europe but I thought i would start of with what I've been up to so far this year.
